MEDai and Florida Hospital Named as HITS Finalist
for the Second Time . . .
MEDai, Inc. and Florida Hospital were recently notified that they were one of
6 finalists in this year's Healthcare Innovations in Technology Systems
(HITS) Partnership in Technology Award program. Of 3 divisions, MEDai and
Florida Hospital were selected as a finalist among the Clinical System group
for their development of the High Risk Predictor. The team will present their
partnership initiative to an elite audience at the National Managed Healthcare
Congress on November 3 in Los Angeles, California.
MEDai's High Risk Predictor technology applies artificial intelligence modeling
systems to predict chronic disease, charge outliers, and charges for
individuals, disease group or a population. With the identification of high risk
individuals, the Predictor allows for proactive intervention and tracking,
better forecasting of health plan costs, and better information for program
development.
HITS was first created in 1992 by the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit.
In 1994, MEDai and Florida Hospital were presented with the HITS award for
the Myocardial Infarction Predictor, which uses artificial intelligence to
determine if a patient is having a heart attack. Should MEDai and Florida
Hospital win the award in November, they will be the first two time winner of
the HITS Partnership in Technology Award.
