Adventist Healthcare to Install MEDai
Artificial Intelligence
Systems
Rockville, MD (November 27, 2000) – MEDai, Inc., headquartered in Orlando,
Florida, announced recently that Adventist Healthcare, located in Rockville,
MD, is installing the company's Intelligent Data Cleanup (IDC) and Clinical
Decision Support System (CDSS), artificial intelligence solutions. The
Adventist Healthcare system is comprised of four acute care hospitals, short
and long-term care facilities, home care services and assisted living facilities.
Adventist provides primary and specialty care for thousands of patients
throughout the Rockville area.
Adventist Healthcare recently launched a system-wide quality initiative and
will use MEDai's artificial intelligence solutions to help them better analyze
and fine-tune their clinical outcomes. "MEDai's systems will enable us to
analyze our facilities' performance from a quality/clinical outcomes
management perspective," said Bill Robertson, Chief Executive Officer at
Adventist Healthcare. "Our goal and the goal of our physicians, who were
heavily involved in the selection of MEDai, is to provide our patients with the
best care possible based on the severity of their illnesses, while maintaining
cost-efficient care," Mr. Robertson added.
Adventist will use the IDC's artificial intelligence technology to establish
medical data integrity and then apply the Clinical Decision Support System's
neural network to capture the severity-specific determination of
appropriateness, efficiency and effectiveness of treatment. These powerful
tools will help Adventist analyze, evaluate and track patient outcomes. "We are very pleased to be associated with one of the finest integrated
delivery networks in the state of Maryland," said Andrew Larkowich, MEDai's
Chief Operating Officer. "It is also gratifying that their medical team chose
our artificial intelligence solutions to help them with their quality initiative,"
Mr. Larkowich concluded.
MEDai, Inc. is a computer information services company, software developer
and tools provider that uses artificial intelligence to assist healthcare
providers and payers in the measurement of quality, efficiency, disease
severity, and outcomes with superior predictability.
