Adventist Health System Selects MEDai's Pinpoint QualityT
Solution for System-Wide Outcomes Analysis

March 17, 2004 – (Orlando, FL) MEDai, Inc., headquartered in Orlando, FL, a leading provider of solutions for healthcare that utilize award-winning technology, announced earlier this week that Adventist Health System (AHS), headquartered in Winter Park, FL has re-signed a multi-year contract to continue using MEDai’s Pinpoint Quality application. AHS, a longstanding client of MEDai has integrated MEDai’s robust outcomes analysis solution into their system-wide quality improvement and pathways initiatives.

Loran Hauck, MD, vice president and chief medical officer of Adventist Health System, stated, “Adventist Health System is pleased to renew our contract with MEDai. We use Pinpoint Quality to monitor the outcomes for our clinical pathways for diseases such as chest pain, pneumonia, heart attack, and congestive heart failure. Our evaluation has conclusively demonstrated that our clinical pathways provide better outcomes and are cost effective for the hospital and the patient. Pinpoint Quality has been a critical component in realizing these results.”

Brent Snyder, senior vice president of information services for AHS, stated, “We have enjoyed a longstanding relationship with MEDai. Although AHS has been a long-term customer, we conducted a review of vendor solutions before renewing. MEDai’s product maintains its market leadership position. The newest release is user-friendly, clinically valid and offers a range of functionality, including the ability to look at new disease categories.”

Steve Epstein, president and co-founder of MEDai, said, “As one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare systems in the nation, AHS has a reputation for leadership and excellence in healthcare delivery and in technology. We look forward to continuing our partnership.”
