Sentara Healthcare Renews Contract to Use
MEDai's Predictive Modeling Solution

May 3, 2004 – (Orlando, FL) - MEDai, Inc., headquartered in Orlando, FL, a leading provider of innovative solutions for healthcare that utilize award-winning predictive modeling technology, announced this week that Sentara Healthcare located in Norfolk, VA, has renewed its contract to use the company’s Risk Navigator Clinical™ predictive modeling solution. Sentara is the largest integrated delivery network in the state of Virginia. This large health system utilizes MEDai’s Risk Navigator Clinical in predicting their high-cost/high-risk members and designing care management programs.

“MEDai’s modeling solution offers the best accuracy in the industry,” said Kathie Zimbro, Director of Clinical Reporting at Sentara. “Sentara utilizes Risk Navigator Clinical to identify members with chronic diseases, high costs and specific utilization patterns, such as poly pharmacy and multiple ER admissions. We’ve used this information to justify and to refine our intervention programs including Life Coaches. Life Coaches provide assessment, teaching, and monitoring to enable self-management,” she continued. “The solution allows us to create actionable reports that are not only used to improve our care management initiatives, but also to model budget and medical expenses, “ she added.

“We are pleased to continue our relationship with Sentara,” said Steve Epstein, President and CEO of MEDai, Inc. “We at MEDai share their commitment to quality and strive to provide them with solutions that will provide significant cost savings and more importantly improve the quality of care they provide their members,” he added.
