MEDai Client Uses Predictive Modeling to Improve
the Quality of Life

August 16, 2004– (Orlando, FL) - MEDai, Inc., headquartered in Orlando, FL, a leading provider of innovative solutions for healthcare that utilize award-winning predictive modeling technology, announced this week that HealthSCOPE Benefits, Inc. headquartered in Little Rock, AR is applying Risk Navigator Clinical™ to affect the lives they manage through their High Impact program. The High Impact program identifies members who currently have low utilization levels, but are likely to incur high costs in the near future (one to two years out). The company couples the identification process with an effective disease management program that focuses on monitoring and proactively treating the identified membership.

"Each high-risk patient is assigned a Life Coach who helps the member manage his/her disease and live a full and productive life. Initially, the Life Coach assesses the member's clinical condition and knowledge of his disease and devises an individualized care plan and an educational program. The Life Coach discusses the member's medication regimen and any life style changes that may be required to improve the quality of life," said Cindy Fergurson, Director of High Impact with HealthSCOPE Benefits, Inc.

In a recent letter to a Life Coach, a member, who suffers from both Crohn's and Meniere's diseases, wrote: "It is hard to believe that the High Impact program doesn't cost me anything; I could not be more pleased with the program. I feel I am getting the very best treatment from my doctors and my Coach is very informative and helpful."

"MEDai's predictive modeling solution goes beyond affecting the bottom line," said Steve Epstein, CEO and President of MEDai, Inc. "Risk Navigator Clinical allows care management organizations to proactively educate and manage their population. In this case, HealthSCOPE's Life Coaches act as patient advocates, ensuring that every member has a chance at living a healthy and active life," he added.
