St. John's Health Plans Selects MEDai's
Predictive Modeling Solution

November 8, 2004– (Orlando, FL) - MEDai, Inc., headquartered in Orlando, FL, a leading provider of innovative healthcare solutions, announced earlier this week that St. John's Health Plans headquartered in Springfield, MO has signed on to utilize MEDai's Risk Navigator Clinical™ predictive modeling solution. Under the agreement, St. John's will incorporate MEDai's predictions into their care management program to proactively identify their high-cost/high-risk members.

MEDai's predictive modeling solution, Risk Navigator Clinical accurately identifies prospective high-risk patients to improve patients' health and quality of care while controlling cost. Risk Navigator Clinical yields the highest accuracy, sensitivity and specificity as evidenced by their performance in The Association for Computing Machinery's Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (ACM KDD) competition. This is MEDai's fourth year competing in the ACM KDD competition and second consecutive year placing first. The company has always placed in the top four.

"Our health plan's goal is to improve the health of its' members and the quality of care they receive, while delivering bottom-line cost savings and added value to our customers," said Janet Pursley, vice president St. John's Health Plans. "MEDai's predictive modeling solution will add to our care management capabilities helping us identify the needs in our population based on health risk. This allows our case managers to use resources efficiently by understanding the specific risk drivers for each patient, identifying gaps in care, and quickly identifying who the members with the greatest impact potential are," she added.

"Risk Navigator Clinical assists health plans in closing the gaps in healthcare delivery by proactively identifying the members in need of care management, providing a user friendly reporting interface, and most importantly providing an abundance of actionable information," said Steve Epstein, CEO and President of MEDai, Inc. "We look forward to working with St. John's Health Plans and supporting their initiatives to improve the quality of care they deliver," he added.
