MemorialCare Medical Centers Renew Contract to Use
MEDai's Outcomes Improvement and Benchmarking Solution
June 15, 2005 – (Orlando, FL) - MEDai, Inc. has announced that MemorialCare Medical Centers, headquartered in Long Beach, CA, has re-signed a 3 year contract to utilize MEDai's Pinpoint Quality™ (PPQ) solution. Pinpoint Quality offers a systematic approach to improving clinical performance, patient care outcomes, patient safety, satisfaction and operational efficiency. Severity adjustment and statistical analysis is incorporated with evidence-based guidelines and benchmarks to evaluate patients and disease characteristics to determine the risk of mortality, organ system failure and extended length of stay. PPQ retains data at the patient level of detail and offers a library of standard and ad-hoc reports by disease, facility and physician.
MemorialCare, one of Los Angeles and Orange County's leading healthcare providers, includes Long Beach Memorial and Miller Children's Hospital of Long Beach, Anaheim Memorial, Orange Coast Memorial in Fountain Valley, and Saddleback Memorial in Laguna Hills, CA, totaling more than 71,000 inpatient discharges per year.
In 1996, MemorialCare introduced an innovative concept in health care delivery. Participating physicians and other healthcare professionals select the highest standards of care for their patients. These standards result in outcomes that surpass national benchmarks. MemorialCare utilizes the MEDai product as an integral part of its quality improvement process. Steve Epstein, President and CEO of MEDai comments, "the management team at MemorialCare is committed to maintaining a standard of excellence in healthcare delivery. We are pleased that our solution continues to provide them with the information they need to engage their physicians and provide better outcomes to consumers."
